DIY MINT TEA that is so easy to make and so delicious

Staying at home during lock down limits the physical movements so much that there are high risks of weight gain from caving food at home all day. If you are looking for ways to lose some “COVID-Fat”, you can check out this quick and easy DIY mint tea receipt for you.

This DIY mint tea is for those who want to have a weight control and love the refreshing peppermint smell or taste. Peppermint leaves in tea is a refreshing drink in the summer. Studies have shown that there are many benefits of peppermint leaves. It helps to improve digestion, suppress craving and helps weight control. It is a Caffeine-free and low in calories drink for daily enjoyment. I drink it to boost my energy and ease my stress headaches. The mint tea is so delicious to add organic honey if you like a bit of sweet taste. If you like it cold, you can put it in the fridge and enjoy it on a hot summer day.

Ingredients:

  • 2-5 mint leaves (no stem)
  • 1 teabag (my pick: English breakfast tea)
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 2 teaspoon of organic honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger (optional)

To prepare the mint tea:

Put 2 to 5 mint leaves and place a tea bag in the cup, and add hot water. Wait for 2 minutes and add honey and ginger to serve and enjoy.

Tips: there are many varieties of mint leaves. For examples, red mints have a stronger taste than spearmint and other green mint leaves.  If you like a lighter taste, you can choose green mint leaves. Put one or two leaves and not stem to avoid the strong grass sense. Check out the wholefoods market for more varieties.
