Beetroots, commonly known as beets, are a root vegetable with beautiful red color and are gaining popularity as superfood. Not only beets are delicious, they are loaded with lots of vitamins, nutrients and have many surprising benefits. In fact, one cup of beet juice contains only 58 calories, but contains lots of vitamin C, A, Folate (helps tissues grow and cells work), and Magnesium.
As per the Discovery magazine, beet can lower blood pressure. It enhances the heart’s ability and contains anti-cancer properties. In addition, the beetroot juice supplementation can improve the amount of oxygen that muscles absorb during exercise.
Ingredients: (to make one cup of Beet, Strawberry and Aloe Vera Smoothie)
- 1 small beet
- 5 small strawberry
- 1/2 cup of Aloe Vera Juice
- few ice cubes
To make the DIY beet , strawberry and aloe vera smoothie:
- Wash the beet, peel the skin and cut it into small pieces
- Wash strawberry
- Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container and secure the lid.
- Blend them until they are mashed together
